The Samana College of Design Studies was founded in 2010 by Samana Moosavi, to provide college degree programs in design at Vijayawada and to create a specialized professional art college to attract students from throughout Andhra Pradesh and PAN India . The curriculum was established with dual goals of excellent arts education and effective career preparation for students. Today,it has grown into one of the most famous design schools in Andhra Pradesh and has now expanded into Telangana through their branch in Hyderabad,offering short courses apart from the four year degree program in the form of diplomas, Samana continues to assiduously adhere to its goals.It is a pioneer design incubator that nurtures emerging design talent. SCDS is a hub where students collaborate with peers throughout fashion houses, industry partners, and communities around India and with students from NABA University, a global center of art, design, and business. Programs are optimized for a new kind of artist: One who goes beyond mere aesthetics and expertise and one who thinks about the way their practice engages with the world at large.

Hyderabad

SCDS opens many doors for you as we enjoy an excellent relationship with the fashion industry’s leading labels. These companies offer experience and training to our students through internships, and in doing so, they choose their future collaborators amongst our students. We participate every year in fashion shows at an inter-college level in order to promote student exposure and networking, since these shows have extensive media coverage and associations with industry giants. It is also a wonderful opportunity to showcase the student’s potential. All the designs and concepts are prepared by the students with guidance through the professional inputs of the faculty. At SCDS, we prepare our students in every way to meet the demands of the industry so they can be the bright stars leading the way to the future.

Infrastructure

Samana emphasis first hand learning through making and managing materials, processes and technologies enabling industriousness as a virtue. To this end, Samana has a weaving studio with looms and a textile workshop. Samana provides students access to a variety of documents, online journals and book materials. Our collection comprises literature pertaining to Art, Design, Film & Photography, Social Sciences and other vast areas. These and other facilities at the campus enable students to research, combine and collaborate craft and technology, acquiring and using the skills of both the craft industry as well as the technologies and processes of the future.




Art and Design Studios

Knowledge and skills advancement are at the centre of everything we do, pushing innovation and creativity to its highest potential. Aiding us in our pursuit are our fantastic facilities. Industry specification machinery, purpose built teaching areas and specialist laboratories provide a state-of-the-art learning and teaching environment for all of our students.It includes innovative teaching, lecture sapec, workshops, offices, design laboratories, studios, computer suites and areas for display and interaction. The equipment and the design of the building has collaborative working at its heart, providing an inspirational environment for all those who work in it.


Technology

Our emphasised investment on extensive lab and information technology services, consists of state-of-the-art technology. Highly equipped computerised labs with Google SketchUp and Autodesk,all accommodated in our spacious classrooms, allows each student the required space to explore their creative ability. Here we combine and collaborate craft and technology, acquiring and using the skills of both the craft industry as well as the technologies and processes of the future.Fashion for us is about newness and timeliness, two qualities that likewise tend to define innovative products in general. Advances in manufacturing, textile production and computing are focused on for our designers to create and sell their clothes.

SCDS is affiliated to MANUU, Central University Accredited A+ BY NAAC. We are also proud to be an ISO certified institute for quality in fashion designing. It offers exceptional courses in multiple areas of design, such as interior and architecture, products and lifestyle, fashion and textile and various courses in fashion designing, These courses have been selectively crafted and developed to include the necessary theoretical understanding with practical exposure to ensure that students develop a inclusive skill for design, while creating their own unique style and aesthetics making them distinct and out of the box.
